Yes! I think about this a lot. When we really think about it, what actually is within our control? The list isn’t that long: the actions we take, the intentions we set. Am I missing anything? The outcome of those things are certainly not within our control. I love that you said, “balance” because that reminds me of an analogy that my friend and I use to describe this process; in order to enjoy the waves, we have to learn how to surf (so to speak). Surfing requires balance, core strength, focus and relaxation. We can’t control the waves, but we can learn how to surf them.
It does us good to reflect on past events, be them uplifting or filled with sadness. Conflicting emotions rise to the surface, but they should be recognised for what they are....you!
