Sometimes you just have to make it happen

Living my dream as an actor continues to lead me to myself; I thrive on deep convos with interesting people whilst archiving my inner thoughts, growth spurts, and the unfolding of my life as an artist.

Back in 2012, I started this journey with no professional experience or contacts—just a lot of untested determination and an unwavering belief in the dream I’ve held since the very first time I picked up a script at 10 years old.

Now I have created a life that is centred around my passion for acting and in 2025 completed my first leading role in a feature film.

Why do YOU want to be an actor, Louise?

Why do YOU want to be an actor, Louise?

“So, why do you want to be an actor?”
From being asked the question, to finding myself in the answer.

I trained under Olivier-award-winning director Rebecca Frecknall at the National Youth Theatre, which was such a pivotal moment for me as someone who hadn’t attended drama school in the traditional sense.

I learned how to create my own opportunities (should you need to), and created the sci-fi short film How to be Human, which was inspired by a desire to increase our collective empathy. Featuring a BAFTA and Tony-award-winning cast, How to be Human screened at festivals like Encounters, Sitges, and Raindance, and won "Best Film" at Miami SciFi and my performance awarded “Best Actress”.

"Movies can change the world. How to be Human certainly does." - Founder of the British Independent Film Awards.

As an actress, I’ve been lucky to play incredible roles. I received "Best Actress" awards for Butterfly (part of the Amazon Prime anthology Girl Feels: Into the Blue) and How to be Human, where I worked alongside Scottish BAFTA-winner Sophie Kennedy Clark. I’ve shared the screen with BAFTA-nominated Kierston Wareing and Nick Moran in The Habit of Beauty.

And in 2025, I stepped into a new and exciting chapter: leading in my debut feature film (by Slowcooked Productions). It’s a dream that had been simmering for (over 10) years, and the process of bringing it to life tested the culmination of what I had learned and experienced to date.

I’m also a big believer in paying it forward. I teach postgraduate students on the "Writing for Performance" and "Creative Writing" MSt courses at University of Cambridge, as well as emerging filmmakers on the Raindance Masters Degree Programme. It’s a joy to help others find their confidence, articulate their stories, and realise their creative visions in the way that others have for me.

Looking back, it’s incredible to think about how this all started—with no roadmap, no connections, just a love for the craft and a whole lot of persistence. Every step, every challenge, and every lesson has deepened my belief that with passion and purpose, our dreams are often closer than we realise.

And I believe that if I can live my dream creative life, then so can you.
